In preparation for the incoming school year 2017-2018, St. Anthony College conducted a ten-day (10) Teachers’ Training and Professional Development Workshop for the entire teaching staff, April 24 – May 9.
The purpose of the seminar was to articulate the K to 12 coded curriculums and prepare the needed learning materials for the upcoming school days.
The activities included were the budget of work (BOW) making wherein teachers budgeted the content topics from the curriculum guide within the school days; lesson planning with congruency of objectives and evaluation; and action research and proposal making.
School forms were also explained in detail to the class advisers. The assessment and rating system in accordance to DepEd Order No. 8 s 2015 was also discussed.
The College faculty were assigned to make syllabus in their respective subjects. The teachers were encouraged to craft a performance task wherein the students could use their learnings in real life situations.
Skills and learnings gained during the training were showcased through the demonstration teaching of selected faculty members.
Dr. Loida G. Marasigan from MinSCAT Calapan City Campus was invited to share her expertise on formulating an action research and project proposals.
The said training was headed by the Academic Affairs Office with the Dean/Principal, Dr. Arnel L. Cataquis. The Administration supported the training by providing the resources, food and refreshments for the trainees.
