The seminar participated by the business administration and accountancy department together with other schools in Calapan City was conducted by the Bangko Central ng Pilipinas last March 2017. The objective of the seminar is to promote knowledge on economic and financial program. Ms. Cherrie Ramos of the Department of Economic Research discussed the role of BSP in the economy. She discussed the three Pillars of central banking which are price stability, financial stability, and efficient payments and settlement system to ensure accurate settlements of financial transaction.
Mr. Fernando Y. Silvosa, Deputy Director, Dept. of Economics explained that the BSP will remain committed towards the achievement of its mission by promoting and maintaining price stability and a strong financial system conducive to a balanced and sustainable growth of the economy.
He explained that the Banko Sentral has the authority to investigate, conduct searches and seizures to maintain the integrity of the peso. Hence, everyone must be familiarized with the characteristics and distinct features, of the banknotes. First is to feel the paper, then examine the watermark, then inspect the security fiber, afterwards, the windowed security thread should be viewed. Subsequently. check the optically variable ink, check the serial number, and lastly, recognize the portrait and color. In short, feel, look and tilt the money.
